I know it is mentioned in the release notes that you cannot halt an OSF/1 system but I cannot halt a VMS system from a PCM platform running on OSF/1. I have read note 495 in relation to the break key and I have set my break key to CTRL_K but when I try to halt the system (VAX 3900) and reply Y to issue a break key, I get the message "Connection between line sensor and remote console has been lost". The console daemon then crashes and I am left with the ens daemon still running which I must kill before restarting CM. The serviced system does not halt. The icon colours sometimes remain grey when restarted. I moved the serviced system to VCS where I was able to halt and reboot the system. Is this a restriction on the OSF/1 platform ? Thanks, Dave.

can you give us info on:
What terminal server ( if any)
What connection protocol used to get to server etc and I shall try to reproduce
the problem as it should work!!
Cheers Simon....

Hi
Was this problem ever corrected in Digital UNIX? I have a V4.0a
system. When I use PCM V1.6-300 and enter a CTRL-P, no halt occurs.
Thanks!

To the best of my knowledge you still can't halt DUnix with a break or
Ctrl-P.
