In order to manage the Xerox centralised high-speed production printers
(LPS models 4050, 4090, 4850, 4890, 4135, 4635, and their variants)
from the POLYCENTER Console Manager (or its predecessor the VAXcluster
Console System), the following things need to be done...
1. An EIA adapter p/n H8571-E Rev A is to be plugged into the OCS
terminal port on the back of the ESS backplane. This will allow
the ESS to be connected to the Digital system (directly or via
terminal servers) using the standard DEConnect MMJ cable.
2. After the ESS is booted up, enter the OCS command
TIME OFF
to disable the continuous time clock update on the terminal screen.
