503.0. "line drawings slow down the C3 interface" by CX3PST::ANASAZ::J_BECKER (There's no substitute for a good boot) Mon Dec 05 1994 18:42

I have added lines between the icons on my C3 and now the C3 performance is noticably
slower. When the screen needs to be redrawn because now it is exposed, or an icon is
moved to a new location in the window, the recovery is very slow.

any way to improve its performance?

thanks

    John,

Couldn't quite read all of your noe because the lines weren't
wrapped, but there's enough there to get the jist. There is no inherent
way to increase the improvement. I assume that you must be doint this
over the network and that you must have a lot of lines. You shouldn't
see any performace hit when you're not editing the display. This was
developed 'on the net' and locally, there is no notice of sluggishness.

Fixing this would not be the end of the world, but would require
some amount of work figuring out the intersections of the expose region
    and the line.
