Folks, A have a customer buying some OSF Alpha 2100's and OSF Alpha 3000/700 workstations and wants to add Polycenter Console Manager. Are terminal servers needed? I would like to avoid these if possible, preferably by sending the console traffic over Ethernet. Can console info for the Alpha 3000/700 workstations be redirected? Thanks in advance, _Tony

Tony, >> Are terminal servers needed? I would like to avoid these if possible, >> preferably by sending the console traffic over Ethernet. Terminal servers are not needed, however, you will still have to connect your systems consoles to the back of the PCM host platform. Terminal servers do this whilst allowing the flexibility of placing your system anywhere on the LAN (or WAN if you use a TELNET terminal server). >> Can console info for the Alpha 3000/700 workstations be redirected? If its anything like any of the other 3000 series workstations, then you are going to have a little difficulty depending on the operating system you are using, browse this conference for more detailed info.
