447.0. "Polycenter console manager hangs" by HGOCS::ANDYNG () Mon Oct 24 1994 02:46

One customer running Polycenter console manager V1.5 on Ultrix V4.3A
find it hangs randomly. Customer is not using any DECterm so this
is not the problem described in release notes. Actually, customer is
using PC to SETHOST to use the Polycenter console manager.

Any idea on this problem ?
Since I'm a novice , any suggestion on attacking this problem?

    Many thanks.

Andy,

What does your customer call a hang? Is it..

    a) The whole system,
    b) The particular interface they were using (if so which one?)
    c) The whole of PCM such that data is no longer logged

We have not seen any hang problems on ULTRIX, has your
customer installed the ECO1 patch recently announced? If
not, it may be worth them installing it as a number of
problems which caused hangs on the other platforms were
  fixed.

Cheers,
Phil

    re .1

When the PCM "hangs", any existing connected consoles
continues to function. But any new login users find the commands, like
"console -c node", "console -m node", "console -s" hangs their
    terminal.

    Any idea ?
