435.0. "Polling interval and C3 background picture" by COMICS::JUDD (Geoff Judd. UK TSC. Viables, Basingstoke) Fri Oct 14 1994 13:04

Hi,
I have a customer who has asked me a couple of questions.

1. With what frequency does PCM poll for whether there is a valid line for a
system. From on an in-house system the interval appears to be 150 seconds but
could someone confirm whether this is the case or not.

2. Is there anyway of displaying a background picture within the C3 interface ?
From what I can see you can only change the colour but does anyone know if there
is a way of displaying a background PIXMAP ?

Thanks in advance,

Geoff Judd.

435.2STATE change to long?BRAT::LAPERLETue May 20 1997 13:3113
    Additional question?

Upon reboot of the system where PCM lives, With each polling cycle a
few nodes change from TYF to TYE but not all at the same time. All
states were TYE before the reload. After 1-2 hours they are all back in
TYE state. Why does the line states take so long to change from ( in
my case ) TYF to TYE for 30+ systems? Is there a way to make them all
change state with one poll pass?

    Thanks

When you start PCM, each line controller will attempt to establish
communications with each node immediately. There is no "polling" involved.

You don't by chance have two LAN controllers on the PCM engine do you?
