433.0. "Problem with CONSOLE C3 /READ_ONLY and /NO_EDIT qualifiers" by COMICS::JUDD (Geoff Judd. UK TSC. Viables, Basingstoke) Thu Oct 13 1994 13:56

Hi,
  I have found that if the both the /READ_ONLY & /NO_EDIT qualifiers are
specified on the CONSOLE C3 command only the /NO_EDIT command has any effect. If
only the /READ_ONLY qualifier is specified it works correctly. This is on
PCM V1.5 for OpenVMS VAX.

    Geoff,

       Try the following:

    $ c3 :== $console$image:console$c3.exe
    $ c3 no_edit read_only

     The command line options must be in lower case.

    If this works, then there is a bug in the CLD definition and should be
    an easy fix. I'd verify this for you but I don't have access to a VMS
    workstation at the moment.

Dave -

I had the customer call today about the use of both qualifiers failing to
work as expected. I tried your symbol with the lower-case parameters, and
I was able to get both the /NO_EDIT and /READ_ONLY behaviors.

We have the MUP installed so, I guess the fix will be in a future release.
What do you think?

Thanks,
Connie

    Connie,

       Looks like this fix didn't make it into the MUP and will have to
    wait for the next MUP/product release. Apologies to the customer
    for this slight inconvenience.
