If I read the manuals correctly PCM can be configured to watch for console events and alert the user if those events occur. Why doesn't PCM provide a basic set of console events as a starting point. eg. If you've got a VMS console connected most people are going to want to see events such as "FATAL BUGCHECK", "PAGE FILE BADLY FRAGMENTED" etc. likewise, if you've got a UNIX box everybody is going to want to flag events such as PANIC etc. Has this been considered? Does anyone has a useful prepopulated console events file? Geoff..

Goeff, this question has benn asked many times in this conference and I don't wish to go through it all again. Please read other notes concerning event defs and scan profiles in the conference.
