425.0. "Console Event List" by GIDDAY::KINGSMILL (Geoff Kingsmill, Australia) Fri Oct 07 1994 09:14

If I read the manuals correctly PCM can be configured to watch for console
events and alert the user if those events occur.

Why doesn't PCM provide a basic set of console events as a starting point.
eg. If you've got a VMS console connected most people are going to want to
see events such as "FATAL BUGCHECK", "PAGE FILE BADLY FRAGMENTED" etc.
likewise, if you've got a UNIX box everybody is going to want to flag events
such as PANIC etc.

Has this been considered?
Does anyone has a useful prepopulated console events file?

Goeff,
this question has benn asked many times in this conference and I don't
wish to go through it all again. Please read other notes concerning event defs
and scan profiles in the conference. If after that you have suggestions please
continue this thread.

Cheers Simon...

P.S. this is not a put down, but a very frustrating subject fot the PCM
development team.
