408.0. "ECO kit for customer." by UTROP1::RIJSBERGEN_M (Marcel Rijsbergen @uto) Tue Sep 20 1994 08:43

    Hello, I'm doing a PCM startup at a customersite. Can I get the ECO kit
    mentioned in 2.x and take it to the customer or does the customer needs
    to log an a call with MCS ?

    Regards, Marcel.

Marcel,
      the kits for the ECO are on:

                    opg::cm$kit:CONSOLEECO1015.A (OpenVMS)
				DCR151.TAR	 (ULTRIX)
				DCROSF151.TAR	 (OSF/1)

They have been submitted to the CSC so can be given to customers now.

Cheers Simon...

    hi...can you tell me what you mean by "submitted to the CSC"?

    I had no idea that these patches existed.....who did you give them
    to? (I work in Colorado on the ultrix networks team and I'm one of
    two people who take netview calls....)

    thanks!!!

    Cathy,
     Actually what he means is they have been submitted to SQM who has the
    responsibility of getting them to us. Simon get's confused sometimes!

    ok..so how do I get em?
408.5OPG::SIMONThu Sep 22 1994 10:1326
Well as per usual there is a process we ( engineering are supposed to follow:

1) Build kits.

2) Fill in a DECstd 204 submission form.

3) Send this form and pointers to kit to a mail adress in the USA.

4) Wait some unspecified time ( what we are doing now) for someone to reply and
   confirm the details in the form were correct.

5) The SQM person pulls the patch kits and puts them in CSERL ( eng software
   library).

6) Same data loaded onto TIMA.

Now of course you may note that parts of this process assume that SQM have not
been "Rightsized". The submissions were sent a week ago and I have had no reply
as yet!!

So short circuiting the process.

      The ECO kits are in opg::cm$kit:

    ok so I pulled the tar file over from osg for ultrix 1.5 pcm.
    Are there any release notes or intallation instructions that go with
    it?

    thanks

 Well, the release notes are in the kit, all you do is untar it and use setld
 to install it.

408.8Just an update or the full thing?MRFISH::SIMMONSKF0JX-Network ConsultantWed Oct 05 1994 16:134
    Is the ECO kit a full kit with all the Console Manager components (i.e.
    can I install it as a NEW CM) or is it just an update to CM 1.5?
