| I have an idea why this might be happening and It may be fixed by
one of the updates in the patch kit. Please try the patch kit first as
it is working for me, however I never tired it on an unpatched
system.

| Dan,
I have installed the consoleeco1v015 kit and still have the problem on the
VMS V6.1 system. Is there another patch that is not included in this kit? I haven't
been back to the customer site yet to install the eco kit on the AXP and try it there.
thanks,
Judy

| Nope, no other patches. Are you running WATCH in a command file and
running the command file detached? If not how are you starting it? If
so then please post the command file and the RUN/DETACH command used to
start it.

| yes,
i'm running watch from a command file which contains the
following:
$ console watch/all/output=tta2:
then
$run/det/uic=[1,4]/input=start_console_watch/out=start_watch.log -
/err=start_watch.err sys$system:loginout

| Well I just tried this and I can do it interactively but if I submit
a command file to batch or detached it executes the CONSOLE WATCH
command and then terminates with no error. I'll dig into the code
today!
