| Connie,
I think that this is the way its supposed to work, you will only ever get
to "monitor" those systems you specified on the command line, consequently,
when you perform MONITOR from the C3, the only system you "specify" on the
command line is the one system. So, whats the point in having two windows
(as a result of NEW) when they can only ever display the same system?
Cheers,
Phil

| Phil -
We didn't explicitly document that NEW was to be useful in character-cell
only, so the customer thought it was broken. Perhaps you could throw an
error in the C3 message box or somewhere to advise "Command NEW not valid
from C3 Monitor".
Thanks,
Connie

| Connie,
You would get a similar error from the VCS C3 if you tried to do a
VIEW different-nodename-than-you-clicked-this-monitor from. I chalk
this one up to "you-can't-please-all-of-the-people-all-of-the-time".

| Connie,
The problem is the Monitor interface is started in
a DECterm as if you typed "CONSOLE MONITOR mumble"
now how do we know its running as an option from
the C3 in order to display a message about NEW?
Cheers,
Phil

| Gentlemen:
Perhaps I'll put something in STARS about expected behavior. BTW, this is a
customer with a premium service contract that was asking about the NEW
function. I didn't inquire because I wanted to nit.

Speaking for myself I wasn't accusing you of such. If this customer has
a premium service contract then he probably migrated from VCS and as I
said in -2 only the names of the commands have changed as VCS behaved
the same way.

Neither was I, also, regardless of the contract the customer has, any
feedback which would potentially benefit other users or improve the product
is always welcome, however trivial or nit picking it may seem.
