334.0. "Change lock icon??" by CSC32::L_DVORAK () Fri Aug 05 1994 17:25

Hi,

I have a customer who would like to change the lock icon. Is
this possible under PCM? This was possible under VCS with the
Lock Console on Connect option in the Customize Connect dialog box.

    Lani,
Do you mean actually changing the look of the icon itself or
making "lock on connect" an option as it was in VCS? If it's the
former, I'd imagine the UIL would have to be changed. If it's the
latter, the code will have to be modified to accomodate the option as
it is currently not an option and there are no back door tricks to make
it an option that I'm aware of.

Sorry, not for now. If you customer really wants this and is upset with
the current icon, we can add the ability to change it.
Hey who says we don't listen to our customers. Please let us know.
Also ask them what they want the lock icon to look like (bigger,
    smaller, color, etc).

P.S. If I remember correctly, the lock icon could not be modified under
VCS. Perhaps they are getting confused with the VCS icon which could be
    changed.

Dave,

I think you should make it selectable just like the
icon for systems/peripherals, you can then also allow
a user defined foreground and background colour.

I though we had this capability at one time, I am sure
we used to get the lock icon from the PCM icon directory.

Cheers,
Phil

334.4I vote for selectable or at least smaller iconCX3PST::ANASAZ::J_BECKERThere's no substitute for a good bootSat Aug 06 1994 01:098

I think this is a good idea. If we find we can not make it selectable, I vote
for a smaller icon! Currently, it almost covers the current node icons.
