Hi,
Does anyone know of a way to have two seperate PCM systems monitor the
same console port. I want to be able to monitor from two places at once if I can.

Regards
Alan

Alan,

Not possible, you can only have 1 session to a DECserver port at any one time.

Why not monitor from two places via the same PCM host, just set host to it from
  your second location.

Phil

Depends on your reason for doing this. If it is to have a hot standby, then one
way of doing that is to have a 'Y' cable. This has been discussed many times in the
VCS conference. Basicaly, though - you have a cable that plugs into the DECserver, and
then splits to two locations.

Try that.

Re -.1
don't call us with corruption probelems if you try this. It contrevenes
the RS232-c spec and may give data errors on the conole line.

It's a pretty safe bet that it will. I've tried this before and you can
recevie characters just fine but when you start transmitting via
connect usually the character I typed is not what was actuall
    transmitted.
