314.0. "PCM Support for OSI, Motif 1.2 or Watchdog" by CSC32::C_TOWNSEND () Fri Jul 22 1994 01:47

Greetings,

Could you please provide a clear statement of support or non-support for
PCM V1.1 and V1.5 with some of our newer versions of software. This kind
of information could also help us get some customers to migrate over from
VCS. Are these supported:

                             Motif V1.2
	                     DECnet/OSI
	                     Watchdog V2.0

If you have qualified or tested any other software with PCM, that would be
good information too.

Thanks,
Connie

Connie,

We support Motif V1.2 and DECnet/OSI, although we do know that
the Our Window Manager "Icons" do not display correctly under
Motif V1.2, we still dont know if its our problem or theirs!
Also, we have only tested with DECnet/OSI on OSF/1, however,
if you have problems, it will only be in the displaying of
windows between workstations which I am 99.9% sure will be
either an OSI or DECwindows issue, not ours.

Finally, with Watchdog V2.0 as well as any other product not
listed as a requirement in the SPD/SSA you take your chances
  with them working.

We only qualify products which we have a requirement for and
so those products will be listed in the SPD.

  Hope this helps,

Cheers,
Phil

314.2OSI for OpenVMS ...CSC32::C_TOWNSENDSat Jul 23 1994 00:4812
Phil -

Thanks for the information, however I'd like to express a concern. OpenVMS
V6.2 is scheduled to ship in November 94, and DECnet Phase IV will no
longer be a choice then - OSI will be here to stay. I hope you can get
things sorted out shortly ... especially in regards to Motif 1.2.

By the way, the customer calls are really starting to roll in this past
week!! You may be hearing from me again REAL soon.

Thanks again,
Connie

The only outstanding problem as far as I am concerned is the icons not
displaying properly, which is on my list of things to look at, It will
appear either in a patch kit or the next release.

Ohhhh Nooo someone actually bought it and we are going to have to do some
  work ;-)

Cheers,
Phil
