293.0. "SET BREAK not working from CONSOLE$MONITOR_INIT.DAT" by VAXER::B_MACKENZIE (If it ain't fixed, don't break it!) Tue Jul 05 1994 23:54
Folks,
I'm trying to establish a BREAK_KEY other than Control-P,
so that when I type CTRL-P, I will get to the console on
the larger VAX models.
I can do this fine from within the MONITOR interface. What
I'm having problems is with doing this from the CONSOLE$MONITOR_INIT.DAT
file so I don't have to manually change the break key each time
I enter the monitor. However, when I specify:
SET BREAK_KEY CTRL_B
in the CONSOLE$MONITOR_INIT.DAT file, and then invoke the console monitor,
I do a SHOW KEY only to find BREAK_KEY = CTRL_P (the default).
It appears as though the Monitor interface is overriding my definition
in the console$monitor_init.dat file.
Any ideas? I'm running V1.5 on VMS 6.1.
Thanks, Bruce Mackenzie-Low
