261.0. "Problem with EXTRACT..." by TNKSYS::DBROWN (With magic, you have some control) Mon May 16 1994 15:58

    My customer has PCM running on a MicroVAX 3100 Model 80.

    I entered the following command:

    CONSOLE EXTRACT/TIME VSTMP3/SINCE=14-MAY:20:00/BEFORE=14-MAY:23:00-
    /OUTPUT= VSDDSG::SYS$LOGIN:VSTMP3_CONSOLE.LOG

    The extract completes but places the output into

    VSDDSG::SYS$LOGIN:VSTMP.;0,

    instead of

    VSDDSG::SYS$LOGIN:VSTMP3_CONSOLE.LOG.

    If I alter the command to place the log on the local node, e.g.

    CONSOLE EXTRACT/TIME VSTMP3/SINCE=14-MAY:20:00/BEFORE=14-MAY:23:00-
    /OUTPUT=SYS$LOGIN:VSTMP3_CONSOLE.LOG

    The result is placed in file SYS$LOGIN:VSTMP3_CONSOL.;0.

    If I remove the directory specification e.g.

    CONSOLE EXTRACT/TIME VSTMP3/SINCE=14-MAY:20:00/BEFORE=14-MAY:23:00-
    /OUTPUT=VSTMP3_CONSOLE.LOG

    the output is placed in VSTMP3_CONSOLE.LOG;0.

    Is this a known problem ? Any suggested workarounds ?

    Thanks...
