A short question regarding the example for the memory requirement for a OpenVMS VAX system using CM V1.1 (note 7.1): You chose a system with 128 managed systems and your calculation was the following: >>> Primary Daemon 1.0 >>> ENS Daemon 1.0 >>> Console Daemon 2.5 x 8 <---- >>> C3 GUI Main 2.5 x 5 >>> Eventlist 3.5 x 5 >>> >>> ---------- >>> Total 52 M Bytes. >>> ---------- Does that mean you always manage 16 console lines with 1 child daemon? If not, what will be the base for this number? Thanks for your help. Sabine

Each child will manage a maximum of 16 children, so if you do not have a multiple of 16 systems to manage, the last child started may actually manage less than the 16, although the daemon will probably still need the 2.5 Mb or so of memory. Cheers, Phil |
