155.0. "Problem with FT kit on OpenVMS VAX" by LOSPED::MCGHIE (Thank Heaven for small Murphys !) Fri Jan 07 1994 07:18

Hi,

I have installed the PolyCentre Console Manager product on a small VS2000 to
help manage the systems in our branch, as well as get some exposure to the
product.

I am having a problem that when I issue a console connect command that I am
getting errors as follows :-

	%REM-E-QIOERR, internal QIO error
	-SYSTEM-F-NOLOG_IO, operation requires LOG_IO privilege

	Connected to remote console (ADODEM)
Type CTRL/E to exit or CTRL/G to escape to monitor

I can still log into the node, but ctrl-e or ctrl-g don't work and I need to
ctrl-y out of the connection. Any suggestions on what quotas privileges etc are
causing this. I am running the console$startup.com from the system account. The
only non-standard thing is the system boots via fast boot. So I may try
rebooting the system the long way and see if the problem goes away.

thanks
	Mike

Booting normally made no difference.

The other bit of information is that I am using LAT terminal servers to connect
to the target console ports.

thanks

Mike,

This was a problem early on, we have fixed this for
the upcoming EFT kit (keep your eyes peeled in this
conference for an announcement next week).

Cheers,
Phil
