Hi, Seems that inputs concerning documentation will be welcome. Well, here are some concerning OSF/1 ... Polycenter Console Manager - Installation Guide - Field Test Version T1.1 1) Page 6-1 / 6-2 & 6-3 about kernel modification : - It is not clear who has to change the kernel and who has not to do it ? Just telling that to use lat or pseudo-terminals, you have to ... is not enough because people just don't know in which case the new product they will install needs it or not. - Example on page 6-2 uses 'SALT' as machine name while example on page 6-3 uses 'PEPPER' as example ... - The description of what to do in the kernel to support pseudo-terminal connections ends on page 6-3 without telling what to do ! Marc.

Hi Marc, Thanks very much for your comments. I am attempting to fix the problems for the next draft of the book, which will be the Field Test draft and is due out in January. If you spot anything else wrong, then PLEASE let us know! Regards, Karen | |||||
