139.1 | Sounds like known feature | OPG::ENTWISTLE | | Wed Dec 01 1993 09:34 | 9 |
| I suspect this will be the same problem as that discussed in note 88 i.e. that
your server does not support the TELNET GET STATUS option.
Console Manager sends a get status message to the server every 10 minutes in
an attempt to determine if it was still there. This works with DECservers -
the only ones we tested against. We will consider allowing users to disable
this test in v1.1 at the cost of not being informed if the TELNET link is lost.

139.2 | Yep, Xyplex terminal servers , not DECservers | SMAC10::BARKER_E | Ummm... | Mon Dec 06 1993 12:26 | 8 |
| Hi,
Thanks, you're right. It turned out the remote systems were
actually connected using Xyplex terminal servers and they don't support
the telnet send getstatus option. For background, is the send getstatus
a popular feature or are we one of the only/few to implement it ?

139.3 | RFC vs Popularity | OPG::SIMON | | Mon Dec 06 1993 15:18 | 5 |
| Hi,
im not sure how "Popular" the option is, but it isd documented in
the RFC. I guess xyplex were trying to save code space.
Cheers Simoin....

139.4 | Changed to LAT | SMAC10::BARKER_E | Ummm... | Mon Dec 13 1993 09:42 | 7 |
| Hi,
Thanks for the help. Fortunately the customer had a bridged
WAN/X-LAN so we switched the terminal servers so they could support LAT
as well.
