129.0. "CM OSF T1.1 max_nofile for OSF?" by HERON::LAFORGUE (It works better if you plug it!) Wed Nov 17 1993 07:20

    I suppose the section 6.1.1 of the installation guide is obsolete:
    changing the max_nofile parameter in param.c.
    There is no max_nofile line in OSF param.c.

    Do we need to add this line? If yes, where in the file?

    Thanks,
    Bernard

129.1Looks like a documentaion bug.OPG::SIMONWed Nov 17 1993 08:3713
Bernard,
        I think this is a documentation problem. Thanks or noticing. We have
certainly run without doing anything to param.c.

What is rather interesting is tat in the modification history for param.c there
is a comment about adding configurable file descriptors using max_nofile, but
there is no definition. I shall check up on this a bit further and post anything
I find out.

Please keep the feedback coming.

Cheers Simon....

The default in OSF is 4096 and is not controlled by max_nofile. We will remove
the bug in the docs.

Cheers SImon.....
