115.0. "Take over a job" by TKOV51::EGAWA (DEC-J/DS/EIC/SE/Telecom/SDC) Mon Nov 08 1993 11:18

Hi,

My customer required to take over jobs between two system managers on Console
manager like below.

After System Mgr#2 get write privilige. System Mgr#2 can recive response of
command#1 to be inputed by System Mgr#1.
So it can take over the job.
Is it correct ?

			       Console manager

     	Target system   <===> <----command#1--- <====  System Mgr#1

                              ---read only----> ====>  System Mgr#2

                        *System mgr#2 unlock to System mgr#1*

        Target system   <===> ----+                    System Mgr#1
                                  |
                                  +--response-> ====>  System Mgr#2

Any help will be appreciated.

115.1Yes it's possible.,OPG::SIMONMon Nov 08 1993 12:309
Kiyoshi,
          what you showed is possible except that in your diagram after the
unlock you did not show a read only connection back to system Mgr#1.

After the unlock system Mgr #2 has the Read/write connection, but system Mgr #1
retains read only mode.It is quite possible for another user to take over a
session on the managed console.

Cheers SImon.....
