110.0. "OSF CM V1.1 : CTRL-D to exit console !" by KETJE::SYBERTZ (Marc Sybertz@BRO - 856/7572) Fri Nov 05 1993 10:13

Hi,

"Remote console (ds5100) already connected by another user
 Type CTRL/D to exit or CTRL/@ to escape to monitor"

CTRL-D is used also as standard in Unix to exit a shell ...

People make a CTRL-D believing they exit the shell and have the console window
which dissapears.
Next time someone else makes a connection to the console, he can have the root
prompt without being pronpted for the password !

I strongly suggest you don't use the CTRL-D key to exit the monitor but for
example the CTRL-!.

Marc,
     Re Base note.

That is being changed. We will not be using those as defaults it is a coding
error and will be fixed

re .1 Those boxes are latent for V1.1. Phil put them in when we were not sure if
we would get failover in V1.1. This will be a future. They will either be
removed or Greyed for this release.

Cheers Simon......
