Customer is running v1.0 Polycenter Console Manager. When he connects to the console of a Sun Sparc10 (v4.1.3 SUN/OS) and attempts tp set mode to single user, he gets garbage characters. If he hits control d and gets back to multiuser mode, all goes back to normal. ideas? thanks.

103.1 | I think Sun change the terminal characteristics between single user and multiuser. | OPG::SIMON | Tue Oct 26 1993 14:14 | 13 | |
Hi, we have had a couple of people comment on funnies with Sun boxes and the way thet appear to guive garbage characters when in different modes. In the other cases it has turned out to be because thterminal characteristics are changed during the boot sequence. This may be what you are seeing. I suggest you read note 99 in this conference as there is some Sun information there. It usually comes down to setting the terminal server Parity and number of bits settings such that it ingores the difference in the data types. If note 99 does not help give us a shout. Cheers SImon....... |
