98.1 | Nope, Not in V1.1 | OPG::PHILIP | And through the square window... | Thu Oct 07 1993 12:53 | 8 |
| Guy,
Not in V1.1, you could submit a phase 0 request
for V1.1+ when phase 0 opens (although I dont know
when that will be).
Cheers,

98.2 | What do you want to be able to do?? | OPG::SIMON | | Thu Oct 07 1993 17:31 | 6 |

98.3 | the configuration | ATYISA::NEYERS | | Fri Oct 08 1993 11:23 | 22 |
| Here is the constumer configuration :
18 remote systems. (DEC alpha/OSF1)
1 central site . (DEC alpha/OSF1)
All the remote sites are connected to the central site over X25
(TCP/IP).
The administrator is localised on the central site. He would like to
bo able to control all the remote systems ( boot, reboot and so on) and
this without using X25.
So the solution seems to be Console Manager , but i 'm trying to define
the required hardware to bypass X25.
Dial up lines are only planned solutions. If you have others
hardware possibilties with CM , any ideas would be appreciate .
Thanks for your quick answer and your future help.
guy.

98.4 | Why not use the X.25?? | OPG::SIMON | | Fri Oct 08 1993 13:01 | 20 |

Why do you not wish to use the TCPIP and X25 for the connections?
If the IT implimentation supports TELNET ( and I see no reason why not ) just
use TELNET terminal servers on each of the sites.
Surely dialups would be very much more expensive.
Cheers Simon.....
