Greg,
from what I have seen of an ICL DRS6000 it has a traditional RS232-C type
console port and I remember seeing one in Manchester with a vt terminal
attached. This should give no problem.

As far as the other two are concerned I cannot give a catagorical assurance
without seeing and trying one.

If they are RS232 ( RS423 ) connections and don't send any special protocol, I
see no reason why they should not work.

Is this for a particular bid or just a general question?

Cheers Simon....

It's for a general bid to BT.

    Greg,

HP 9000 series is OK. I looked at this for Shell Stanlow. I can't
remember the model number, so there may be differences.

Novell Servers are OK from memory. I think someone asked about this in
    the VCS conference.

Basically, can't you ask BT what the console devices are on these
machines? If they RS232, XON/XOFF and using ASCII they are fine. My
advice, is be imaginative, if you can't connect to the console, maybe a
system printer (Also sometimes connected to a console and usually
serial), or use a protocol converter (Use this for IBM mid range
    systems that talk XBM).

    Hope that helps
