| Les,
Here's some partial answers... There's also an internal QAR database
which should be referenced in the notesfile here somewhere. (if it's
not, I'll put the location in). Please feel free to submit QARs. We're
right in the middle of field test, so your feeedback is VERY important
for both the success of the product and Digital.
- in C3 a lot of the subwindows come up with fixed sizes (eg the Review
- window), this is a pain if your data is wider than 20 columns
I'll have to agree here. I thought that the default should at least be
80 columns. However, you can stretch these out to any size you want and
'save' the customization in the pulldown menu. The next time it will
revert to your last saved settings.
- In terminal mode, using ^E and ^G is fine, except that emacs and tpu
- make use of these keys, thus rendering the two major editors unusable
- on console manager devices. Simon says we can configure this, but better
- defaults (eg ^7 and ^9) would be useful.
Agreed again. This is also used in VMS quit frequently as the 'EOL'
or end of line control character. It would be nice to have it
customizable and ultimately customizable for each system. I would like
to see it have the same functionality as VCS so that users could
easiily switch/transfer to CM. It uses control G to return, much like
control G behaves now. Instead of using control E, I would like to see
control M be used to go to the Monitor. Control M is also the ANSII
equivilent of a carraige return and thus harmless in nature. Does it
have any meaning in emacs?
- try doing
- cm -c system
- ^G
- b (to start typing the break command)
- The terminal prompt moves to the 4th column, not the 9th
- where it should be.
- (when you get to the 9th column it puts in a tab for you)
Perhaps one of the developers could commnet????
- The command line commands are not intuitive (unless you're into hundreds
- of options to set) and there isn't any online help inside cm. Will help
- be in the SSB?
Are you talking about the 'monitor' interface? This has the reverse
video line across the bottom of the screen and allows you to enter
commands. If so, I believe we are working on it, although FT2 doesn't
have it in just yet.

| Les,
thanks for the praise. Tell your freinds about it.

Resize the windows and save current settings in the customise pull down
they should then appear in that size/position each subsequent time.

Unfortunatly the ASCII protocol does not have charecters for ctrl 1-9
Sorry about that.

I assume you mean the commands in the monitor interface. We hope to put some
help in there.
There is also a cm man page.
Keep the info coming.
Cheers Simon.....
