I would like to know how to remove an obsolete file
from a shared sandbox. I know that I can just delete
the file from my sandbox but I want it to disappear from
the shared sandbox also so that future mklinks do not
bring it back. The administrator for the shared sandbox
has no idea how to accomplish this.

Mike,
To remove the file, you need to defunct the file:
bco <file>
bci -defunct -m"Defuncting this file" <file>
bsubmit <file>

When you do this, you also need to change the Makefile and remove
it from the inventory (.mi file).
