2636.0. "ODE commands do not work on mickey" by AOSG::FILTER (Automatic Posting Software - mail to flume::puck) Mon Oct 28 1996 19:19

Date Of Receipt: 28-OCT-1996 18:24:30.43

Subj: ODE commands do not work on mickey
mickey: wgao> ki

Kerberos Initialization for "Katie_Gao"
Password:
kinit: Generic error (get_intkt)
mickey:wgao> nslookup "mickey"
Server: quarry.zk3.dec.com
Address: 16.140.16.3

Name: mickey.zk3.dec.com
Address: 16.140.16.193

mickey:wgao> ypmatch mickey hosts
16.140.16.193 mickey.zk3.dec.com mickey
mickey:wgao>

Yet if I attempt to do the same commands on another system, such as
timg, it works fine. Other people in my group do not have problems
either.

Point of note: mickey is a new name for my workstation. It used to be
named dabooboo and was owned by another person.

Other information: I have reinstalled the ODE 3.0 client since
renaming my system, I have rerun odemount on the pools I am interested
in. Those things seem to work OK.

Please advise what to do next and how to resolve my problem.

Thanks,
Katie Mon Oct 28 18:20:00 1996

Are you using DEC Athena or MLS+?

Make sure you get the same results from the following commands and that you
are running ntpd or xntpd to keep your system date/time in sync.
