Subj: I want to deliver a patch which includes an updated man page
I believe that this is the "right" thing to do, and is much better
than *just* putting the new command arguments in the patch README
(I will *also* put the info in the README).
A user of a patched system should be able to get current information
from using the "man" command. A user should not have to bother
some SysAdmin and ask if perhaps any new options to commands were added
as part of the new patches. This would contradict our USEG mission as
providing "world class" customer-friendly patches.
I would like to argue my position up the chain of command
to get a resolution and new policy in writing within 4 weeks from today
(which allows, even encourages, delivering updated man pages for patches,
in the few cases it is appropriate (eg. new options added to commands)).
Please let me know what my next step should be to accomplish this goal.
I'd like to push our doing the right thing for our customers.
I have always been very concerned with substandard or out-of-date
documentation.
Golden rule for customers,
sergei

Subject: I need to submit a change to the MAN PAGE for mkfdmn

I need to submit a change to the MAN PAGE for mkfdmn
in various support pools. But I can't find any man pages in the
normal pools. Please advise how I can use ODE or otherwise
update man pages for support pools.
Thanks,
sergei
P.S. Obviously I also need to know how to "build" the revised man pages.
