Steve, the ODE tools (formally DECode-II tools), are generally not
fully installed on a system, but are generally nfs mounted from an
ode tools server in your domain. In the zko domain there's a server
called
zk2sup.zko.dec.com
which is managed by Bill Gray, [email protected], dtn 381-1843, cc'd.
You can nfs mount the tools as follows:
mkdir /usr/sde
mount /usr/sde@zk2sup /usr/sde (recommended you put an fstab entry
in place for this)
The ode client install is done using
/usr/sde/install/ode install
take the default choice, [client], and enter NONE or no as
appropriate for all the mount questions.
I would contact Bill Gray (& maybe Will Beck) to find out what "build trees"
do need to be mounted for Ed's work. No build trees can be mounted from
zk3, only copies which exist in zko. This may place new requirements on
what build trees Bill provides or you may need to provide disk space yourself
to house any build trees needed if Bill doesn't have the resources.
We should take this one step at a time. For additional setup or
usage questions, please mail to [email protected] (cc'd).

Hi,
I'm in the System Admin group in zk2-3 and one of the people I support,
Ed Milhomme, has requested that I install ODE on his system. Ed works with
Will Beck in the QCS organization. Can you give me a pointer to a kit for
this and any other info I need to install/configure this for him?
Thanks,
Steve Beal
