Rajul, from your mail it's not clear where you're trying this from,
but the problem is that v32de2supportos.nightly is not mounted, or
you tried to access it while it was in the middle of updating.

I tried this on wasted, which is where your mail came from, and it's
mounted fine:

fwasted-507 % mksb -back v32de2supportos.nightly  test
creating new set: Joshua_Friedman_test, setdir: .
creating lock file for new set.
[ creating /home/jmf/ode/sb/test/tmp ]
/home/jmf/ode/sb/test/tmp: created directory

...waited a long time here...

Just use, as root, /usr/sde/odemount v32de2supportos.nightly 
on your workstation if that is where the problem occurred, to mount
the missing tree.
