2265.0. "Potential problem with locks" by AOSG::FILTER (Automatic Posting Software - mail to flume::puck) Wed May 08 1996 16:52

Subj: Potential problem with locks
I checked out kernel/io/cam_disk.c (locked) while having account "raul".
Now my account was changed to "kacirek". While bco-ing cam_disk.c, I got
the message:
% bco cam_disk.c
[ Invalid USER field in bcs lock file:
/usr/home/kacirek/sandboxes/steel/src/.BCSlock ]
[ sandbox is locked by raul (not kacirek) - Sorry ]
Directory: /usr/home/raul/sandboxes/steel/src
Locked by: raul
Locked on: Mon May 06 12:35:03 1996
Comments: <<<replace this with anything others should know about this lock>>>
Then I edited .BCSlock file, replacing "raul" with "kacirek" and tried again
with following result:
% bco cam_disk.c
[ ./kernel/io/cam/cam_disk.c ]
[ ./kernel/io/cam/cam_disk.c already writeable; branch check-out aborted ]
I have a feeling that your intervention may be required.
Regards, Raul.
