Subj: Tonight - ZK3-3 Network Cleanup - Phase 2

The site networking group will be doing Phase 2 of their network clean
up tonight, in the ZK3-3 lab. Phase 2 involves cleaning up unused
network cables and consolidating excess cabling in the cable trays.
This work can not be done by segment, but rather by physical cable tray
location. Their network cleanup effort tonight (4/25) will run from
5pm-9pm and be in the cable tray over the build environment.

In order to insure the integrity of the build environment, the OSF
DECode-II pools will not be available between the hours of 5pm and 9pm
tonight. We will be locking the pools at 5pm to insure the integrity of
our sources. We also recommend developers do nothing in the build
environment between the hours of 5pm and 9pm should file servers become
unavailable.

For developers at ALL sites, this means all ODE access to
the OSF project pools will be locked. (ie: bco, blog, etc.)
People may need to exit and re-start any workon sessions when
the pools are unlocked. This will depend on the extent of
activity that occurs during the clean up.

For developers at ZK0 it also means, all backing trees should
NOT be accessed during that time.

The site networking group has been doing a very conscientous job during
the network cleanup effort in the ZK3-3 lab, with minimal impact to
anyone. However, this step is being taken to insure our sources and
critical development efforts are protected from unplanned outages.

If you have any questions about the ODE development environment, please
direct them to the reng alias.

Your cooperation and understanding is appreciated.
