Subj: Wondering why ODE response is miserable after about 6PM?
From recent SysAdmin mail, I learned that the production systems
are backed up starting at 5:30 PM by a cron job (I'm quoting, I haven't
verified this).
I'm wondering whether this has anything to do with the
bad degradation of response time starting about that time.
Couldn't the backups be done by cron later, say at 11PM
after most everyone has stopped working?
It is entirely possible that the response time degradation
is random and I just notice it most after 6 PM when I expect
it to get better, not worse.
Both ODE commands and dxmail are very very slow.
