Subj: Re: problem doing bsubmit
| Hi,
|
| No one has contacted Jim to assist in this ODE problem. What's up? Have the
| aliases and/or process changed?
|
| -Sue
No we're just a little short handed. The workload keeps going up, but and the
body count keeps going down - at least in the short term.
It'd be nice if DECWest would be able to help with some of these, but
apparently they're not.
So - Jim neglected to mention how he got into this fix. Something abnormal
happened for this to occur, an aborted submit? network problems? trashed
sandbox setfiles??
Does a bstat -all list rev numbers that remotely match the ones in the error
message? If you do a blog -r on one of the files does it show your checkin?
Does it show any unusual locks on the file?
Some more info would be helpful.
-Grant

|
| I dont see what the "appropriate steps" are in this case; i've tried
| doing bco/bci for the files but to no avail.

I did a bsubmit, it said do u want to merge, I said yes, I saw it was
incorrectly merging files (was dropping some of my changes from at
least one of the files it was presenting me to merge with), I told it
to abort, bsubmit said fine, do a resub when ur ready. I said cool,
did a resub, it said do u wanna merge? I said no (figuring i'd bsubmit
all the ones that require no merge), it made me merge anyway. I did
the merges and figured I'd get it all bsubmitted then find the
problems; But the bsubmit left me in the state shown below.

yes, eg extmap.h shows "STEELOS: 4.2.11"

I was attempting to bsubmit rev 4.2.10.2 of extmap.h
I had done a kinit just prior to the first bsubmit so the ticket
wouldnt expire.

I belive thats what the 4.2.10.2 is above.
>Does it show any unusual locks on the file?
I dont know whats unusual, it shows:
RCS file: ./usr/ccs/bin/ld/extmap.h,v
Working file: extmap.h
head: 4.2
branch:
locks: strict
access list:
