Subj: ODE Pools and Build Environment - Downtime Saturday 3/23/96

ODE Pools and Build Environment - Will be down Saturday, March 23rd,
			  	  from 9-5 for preventative maintenance.
======================================================================

The OSF DECode-II pools and build environment will not be available
between the hours of 9am and 5pm on Saturday, March 23rd.

For developers at ALL sites, this means all ODE access to
the OSF project pools will be locked. (ie: bco, blog, etc.)
People will need to exit and re-start any workon sessions once
        the environment is back up.

For developers at ZKO, it means all backing trees will be taken
off line and will not be available for backing sandbox builds.

During this downtime, we will be expanding the disk resources on Secret
(ODE submit server) and Buffer (ODE RCS server). These disks will
be used to expand the rcs and submit areas as well as expand one of our
data redundancy mechanisms that protect the intregity of the Digital
UNIX product. We will also be doing some preventative maintenance on
other machines in the build environment, during this time.

By scheduling this on a Saturday, we hope to minimize the impact the
downtime will have on the engineering community and their development
schedule.

Please note that the nightly builds will still be run over the weekend
as planned.

If you have any questions, please send mail to flume::mazza.

Thank you for your support.

Regards, Lucinda Mazza
         Digital UNIX Release Engineering
