Hello,
I have a v32d cld. I would like to work on a fix and
need a backing tree to submit to.
Is there a .nightly that we can back to ?
How long before it becomes available ?
Am I missing something ?
Will there be a v32d2 ?
What is v32e?

Hi Bill,
There will not be a support pool for only V3.2D-1 nor V3.2D-2 nor
V3.2E-1 nor V3.2E-2. The V3.2D-1 support pool had been created in
December and then removed when I was told that there would not be
individule support pools but rather combined support pools where the
D-1 and E-1 pools would be supported from one pool and D-2 and E-2
would be supported from another pool. I was also told in January that
there would be no patches deilvered from the combined pools until the E
release had shipped. Well time has changed things.
As you no doubt know by now, there are both a v32de1support{os,x} and
a v32de2support{os,x} set of pools.
The v32de1support{os,x} is now in place. v32de1support is buildable
and there is a valid .nightly backingtree for those pools. There is
work underway to create a difference / conflict listing for the
differences between v32support and mp1*.bl2. There will need to be a
'merge' party to get the v32de1support pools to the same level as the
mp1*.bl2 pool. There have been meetings last week and will be meeting
again this week seperately with both Jim Metsch and Terry Reilly to
discuss the use and needs of these pools.
And now to your questions:
Q: Is there a .nightly that we can back to ?
A: Yes, there is. It was available on Friday Feb 10.
------------------------------------------
Q: How long before it becomes available ?
A: I had thought it was available when you sent your mail.
I found that the ode_fstab was goofed up and odemount would
not mount the directory.
------------------------------------------
Q: Am I missing something ?
A: No. Just a lot of unplanned work is needed to be done
to support the mulititue of support pools. Things are taking
longer than what was planned / hoped for.
------------------------------------------
Q: Will there be a v32d2 ?
A: Yes - actually a v32de2 support pools, where both D and E releases
are supported together.
------------------------------------------
Q: What is v32e?
A: The difference between V3.2D and the supported needed for True Clusters.
