Subj: problems with bsubmit last night
hmm - I wonder if thursday's power hit messed up something (I saw some
mail that said NSA was a bit under the weather...) Last night I
checked out rm_spur.c and lockinfo.c, added my changes, and tried to
check them in. Here's a script of what happened:
(bci -all)...
[ ./kernel/kern/lockinfo.c Rev 1.1.211.1 checked in ]
<tract1:/usr2/sandbox/newrm/src/kernel> bsubmit -all -defect clustwav3os-1245-grava
Outdate files if successful submission? [Y]es, [N]o, [Q]uery later]: [Yes]
>> FATAL ERROR in /usr/sde/tools/alpha_OSF1/bin/ode/bsubmit:
>> The file './kernel/kern/lockinfo.c' is already defunct,
>> in control system, at revision '1.1.176.4'.
>> If this file still exists in your set, you need to outdate it with:
>> bcs -o ./kernel/kern/lockinfo.c
Please take appropriate steps and run bsubmit again.
- No work has been done for this submission.
- No files have been changed in any way.
- The files in this submission are not held.
- The use of the -resub option is not required and will not be recognized.
<tract1:/usr2/sandbox/newrm/src/kernel> bstat -all
[ ./kernel/io/dec/pci/rm_spur.c ]
version 1.1.22.2 selected
[ ./kernel/kern/lockinfo.c ]
version 1.1.211.2 selected
I ran bcs as the message suggested. bstat told me I only had rm_spur.c
out, so I checked out lockinfo.c again, and got the same thing. I had
check out lockinfo.c earlier in the day, but ran bcs -o -u on it
moments later, when I decided to wait for a code review and some
further testing. Could there be a remnant of this hanging out in my
system somewhere?
Thanks in advance for any help or guidance you can provide.

Bill,
This file was defuncted in the CLUSTWAV3OS pool by Brian Stevens
revision 1.1.176.4
date: 1995/11/01 14:10:55; author: Brian_Stevens; state: Defunct; lines: +5
-1
File is defunct
That's what ODE is talking about. You can't submit a file that is defunct
in the pool. I suggest you talk to Brian Stevens.
