Don,
There's no limit as far as have ever seen on history in a file; if you
think you have a case that broke a limit, please file a ptt report
(instructions in release web site) - also ODE has a convention
for old history, in a separate section below the 'active' history
(HISTORY, $Log, ... $EndLog), after this you can have old history
in a section ($OldLog, ... $EndLog$) and this will also get stripped
when we make a binary kit.

I am making a backport of some ld source files where we want to include
revision information of what is being backported.  At first I tried
to paste in the revision information in the HISTORY section.  I kept
getting ODE errors so I copied the revision into a seperate comment
below the header and made a note of that in the actual revision comment. 

this:

 * Revision 4.2.63.2  1995/11/15  15:33:42  Donald_Courtney
 *      Backport of Platinum BL 9. Edit history below
 *

refers to the history in a seperate comment.

Will this cause problems with ODE?  I was able to bci. Also is there a 
known limit to how long a revision comment can be? This one apparently 
broke the limit.
