Subject: build failure from ptliteos tree, can you help?
Hi,
I am trying to build the kernel directory (ptliteos.bl6), and got the following
error when building src/kernel/src/config/config:
% cd kernel/src/config
% build
relative path: ./kernel/src/config.
string passed to /usr/sde/osf1/build/ptliteos.bl6/tools/alpha_OSF1/alpha/hostbin/make:
make -cF build_all
cd ../../../../obj/alpha/kernel/src/config
env - COMP_HOST_ROOT=/ COMP_TARGET_ROOT=/ /usr/bin/cc -EL -non_shared -O2 -
non_shared -tr -h/usr/lib/cmplrs/cc -B `genpath -L/usr/lib -L/lib ` -L/usr/l
ib -L/lib -o config.X y.tab.o lex.yy.o main.o mkioconf.o mkmakefile.o mkglue.o
mkheaders.o mkswapconf.o mklocalconf.o AFclose.o AFgetatr.o AFgetent.o AFgetval
.o AFnxtatr.o AFnxtent.o AFnxtval.o AFopen.o AFread.o AFrewind.o AF
setdflt.o -lln
ld:
Object file format error in: /usr/lib/libln.a(yywrap.o): more than one .text section in the file
*** Exit 1
Stop.
The build is done on a ptliteos system, and I believe this is what causing it.
When done on a goldminos system, it ran fine.
I believe the problem is because it ran /usr/bin/cc instead of cc from the
tools directory. This rule can be found in usr/lib/makefiles/standard.mk.
Have you encountered this problem and have the solution for it?
Thanks,
- -santa
