Subj: v32c kernel doesn't build correctly
Hi,
Josh and I have been going around about this all afternoon, and I think
he copied you, but just to summarize the problem again:
I couldn't successfully build a kernel in my v32c sandbox. It got
this error:
(there were no errors through the whole build until here:)
...
rm -f vmunix vmunix.sys
loading vmunix.sys
/usr/sde/osf1/build/v32csupportos.nightly/tools/alpha_OSF1/alpha/acc/ld:
if_sl.o compressed: slattach: multiply defined
Error: Undefined:
pts_cdev
*** Exit 1 (ignored)
chmod 755 a.out
chmod: a.out: No such file or directory
*** Exit 4
Stop.
*** Exit 1
Stop.
I looked up the two files that contain pts_cdev, but that is nothing I
have touched, so I figured maybe there was just something wrong with
my sandbox, like maybe I needed to redo links or something since the
last build.
So I delete the sandbox entirely, and did another mksb to reestablish it,
with all its links and everything.
Josh and I confirmed that the odemounts are OK.
But it still gets that error, so I guess there must be something wrong in
the build somewhere.
Josh said to send this to odehelp, so you can take it from here.
Thanks,
Dick Goodwin
