Farrell, just in case you hadn't noticed this in mail I'd sent to
osf_developers...  (You seem to be good at finding problems, so I
figured I'd head this one off at the pass!)

     Note: One known bug in the v3.0 and v3.2 kernel causes
     this problem with ode3.0 and csh: if you suspend a job in
     a workon (eg a vi session), and then suspend the workon,
     when you resume the workon, the suspended job will be
     terminated.  This has been fixed as of ptlite, v3.2c.
