Subj: still trying to figure out klist information
This is directed to the ODE experts in DECwest.
When I first use the kinit command to get a Keberos ticket (*not* using the -l option), and immediately use klist, the following
information is displayed:
yokwe:demers> klist
Ticket file: /var/dss/kerberos/tkt/tkt1909
Principal: Joyce_Demers@ZONE
Issued Expires Principal
Jun 2 09:16:06 Jun 2 19:16:06 krbtgt.ZONE@ZONE
I understand that this is really a "ticket-granting-ticket", but could
someone please explain to me why the expiration time indicates 10 hours
from the issued time?
After I first use an ODE "b" command, and then use klist, the following
information is displayed:
yokwe:pt_ref:demers> klist
Ticket file: /var/dss/kerberos/tkt/tkt1909
Principal: Joyce_Demers@ZONE
Issued Expires Principal
Jun 2 09:16:06 Jun 2 19:16:06 krbtgt.ZONE@ZONE
Jun 2 09:16:51 Jun 2 17:16:51 kxct.ronyon@ZONE
The second line here displays an 8 hour time period, which is what I
expect to see. Why is the first line, the "ticket-granting-ticket" line
a 10 hour time period?
I am trying to understand this in order to explain it to new users.
Joyce
