OK - how's about some more data.

Try bsubmit -debug -auto_out if_otto.c

and capture the output.

thanks. I just spoke with John. The lock_logs directory and Tlog files
in the logs directories provide locking and temp space for user "atmproj"
during the submit. See if atmproj can successfully do a workon to
the shared sandbox and write in (touch, mkdir) the logs directory.

Perhaps something with the permissions over the nfs mount have changed?

You can remove the lock_logs directory and the Tlog* file and try again.

Farrell,

Was there a submit in progress, or perhaps a control-c'd submit on May
26th into that sandbox? The reason I ask is that I see the following
two directories in /usr/projects/netode2/atm/sandbox/ptatm/logs

drwxrwxrwx 2 50 staff 8192 May 26 17:39 lock_logs
drwxrwxrwx 2 50 staff 8192 May 31 15:13 tlogdir

I think that if you remove these two directories [you can do it via ode
with "sadmin -unlock log"] that you're submit[s] may work...

John

Pete will have to do this...

Don't think so... I can still do the other b* commands.

These were gone when I looked. Maybe Pete got rid of them? I was able
to do the submit after I received your mail (thanks to you and Josh!)

A short while ago (around 5/15) I had other problems with ODE which
Rima helped me resolve. I don't think I tried any submits last week.

Subject: Warning messages on building libc.so (v4.0 sandbox)

When building above shared lib,, seemed to build okay, but got
several warning messages like those below. Is this a problem?
Thanks,

Carmen-
no, this is not a problem. It looks a these routines were removed
from libc durring Platinum, but that they were not removed from the
reorder file that is used to reorder libc to improve put commonly
used routines at the beginning of the image to improve page usage.

This should be fixed for steel, but cord just ignores any entries in the
file that it can't find in the image so there is no functional problem.
