1477.0. "ODE install nit" by AOSG::FILTER (Automatic Posting Software - mail to flume::puck) Mon May 22 1995 17:29

The current ODE install process sets up the system to talk to a
list of four NTP time servers (clock[1234].zk3.dec.com).
The system attempts to use these servers without regard to their
network and without waiting until routing has been started.
This reults in a number of unnecessary error messages.
Maybe this should be changed to use these servers if no other
time servers have been explicitly configured or maybe the the
list needs to be network specific (blue, red, green, etc)
instead of site specific (zk3, zs0, unx, etc).

Thanks for the suggestion. Can I ask you to file a ppt report on this,
(gen-ptt while in a workon). I agree that this could be better implemented.

If you would like me to I could but I received some email from Tina
Anderson which stated that this has been addressed in 3.0. Would
you still like me to file a ppt? Do you think that someone might
fix this for 2.0. Any idea when 3.0 will start being used for the
kernel?
