(useg & odehelp cc'd as an fyi...)

John, the file called SNAPSHOT in the submit tree is renamed to
SNAPSHOT.<pool> when it's copied into the .bld/.nightly tree. This is
the list of files submitted into that support pool directly. A new
SNAPSHOT is then constructed by taking the full SNAPSHOT from the ssb
tree (backing the support pool) and merging it with SNAPSHOT.<pool>,
ending up with a full SNAPSHOT to represent the entire source tree.

I'll try to be more concrete...

In the .nightly tree, SNAPSHOT lists all ~15000 files in the src tree,
and SNAPSHOT.v30supportos (or .<pool>) has only the files actually
submitted into that support tree.

Josh,

What are the functional difference between the to files SNAPSHOT and
SNAPSHOT.v30supportos? I notice that SNAPSHOT is greater than
SNAPSHOT.v30supportos. I am assuming that SNAPSHOT.v30supportos was what
v30.ssb was when we started the support pool and SNAPSHOT reflects what build
changes have occurred?
