Subj: using rebuilt shared libraries
I have changed libc to have pathconf and fpathconf as system calls
instead of plain C library routines, then I remade the libc.so.
I want to test that shared executables built using the original libc.so
will work using the new library, however I keep getting core dumps.
The nonshared executables work fine.
On a test machine, I installed the new kernel and put the new libc.so
and so_locations files in a place, which I point to with LD_LIBRARY_PATH.
This makes other commands coredump, however. Do you know what I'm
doing wrong? I also tried putting the new libc.so and so_locations in
the /usr/shlib area, however that has the same problem. I am wondering
if I was supposed to change the library version? or maybe I have to make
all new shared libraries and put them in there in addition to libc.so?
Thanks,
Christine
