Joyce, is the kxctd process running on ronyon? Maybe it didn't start
properly and will have to be restarted by hand.

Subj: connect: Connection refused
I had to reboot our ODE Server, ronyon. (I don't know what was wrong
with it, but it wouldn't even let me log in.) It seems to have come up
fine.
However, now in my sandbox on my workstation I am getting the following
error:
yokwe:pt_ref:demers> bco -u cp_mandirs
[ ./Tools/cp_mandirs ]
connect: Connection refused
Retrying connection to ronyon.zk3.dec.com: retry number 1
connect: Connection refused
Retrying connection to ronyon.zk3.dec.com: retry number 2
connect: Connection refused
^Cyokwe:pt_ref:demers>
I have unmounted and remounted /usr/sde, from ronyon, and I continue to
get the same error. How do I fix "connect: Connection refused"?

ronyon is running ultrix, so I ran /usr/sde/install/ultrix-ode-install.
It seems to have completed properly (I got "ultrix-ode-install
completed" message), but I also got the following error (first serveral
lines are from the script):
Enter the pools you want mounted [-all]:

After the installation, you MUST edit the /etc/rc.local file

Joyce, the /usr/sde/install/ directory has setup and startup scripts
for osf and ultrix. If osf:
ode install then at boot it will automatically do ode
start
if ultrix
ultrix-ode-install
and at bootup it should automatically do ultrix-ode-startup from
the /etc/rc.local if you've set this up properly; at the end of this
script is echos to the screen:
After the installation, you MUST edit the /etc/rc.local file
and include the following line
near the very end:
. /etc/ultrix-ode-startup

Joyce, the script starts 2 servers: kxctd and supfilesrv. The kxctd
one had died (I presume), but the sup one hadn't, so when you did the
install, it started the kxctd I suspect, and found the sup was already
running so it couldn't start another. It's probably all fine now
and as long as /etc/rc.local's all set - should be ok on reboot too.
