Subj: xor backing trees moving to fbi on Wednesday Nov 22
Important message DEC OSF/1 Developers who mount pools or /usr/sde from xor:

Tomorrow, soon after the buffer DECstation 5000/240 to DEC3000-M800 transition
occurs, there will be an additional change. Backing trees now located
on xor, will be moved to server fbi. Both xor and fbi are on the yellow-net.

If you mount any of the follwing filesystems, you will want to consider
remounting from fbi.

	xor: /usr/sde
	xor: /share/xor/build/ptx.dsk6
	xor: /share/xor/build/agxhw2.dsk2
	xor: /share/xor/build/agxminor.dsk3
	xor: /share/xor/build/goldminx.dsk6
	xor: /share/xor/build/agosminor.dsk1

As of now, you should try to umount your /usr/sde and remount it from fbi.
If you've used the ode install script to automatically mount this for you,
you'll have to edit your /etc/rc.config file to change this, otherwise
you'll edit your /etc/fstab.

Also as of Wednesday at 12:00am, you can/should do the odemounts required
to mount the moved backingtrees you require from fbi; for example:

    (root)# /usr/sde/odemount -v agosminor.bl9 agxminor.bl9

Here is a list of the backingtrees which are moving:

	agosminor.bl9
	ptx.nightly
	goldminx.nightly
  	agxhw2.bl6
	agxminor.bl9

Tomorrow (Wednesday 11/22 at noon) we will switch over the links in
/usr/sde/osf1/build to point to fbi mounts instead of xor. At this time,
if you have both the old and the new areas mounted, then you won't even
notice when the links swap.

After the move is complete, you can then unmount the old xor mount points,
as follows (the -v is for verbose):

	odemount -u -v oldagosminor.bl9
	odemount -u -v oldagxminor.bl9

Please send any questions to [email protected].

Thank you.
